About Me

WELL, HELLO THERE!

I’m Julie, and I’m so glad you’re here! Let me tell you a little bit about me and my family…

I am first and foremost a mother. On a side note, I’m also a single one. I make my living as a full-time math teacher in a secondary public school here in Utah, and I’m absolutely passionate about it. Abraham Lincoln once said, “Whatever you are, be a good one!” (At least Google told me that Abraham Lincoln said that.) It’s a motto that has always resonated with me. I love to be involved at a higher level in my career and to extend myself beyond my small-town. However, not too long ago I had a moment when I realized that my two daughters are growing WAY too fast. I’m not necessarily the most emotional or sentimental person you’ll ever meet (though I do have a heart), but that realization made me crazy sad. I resolved then and there to be happy and content (for now) with where I’m at in my career, and to focus on making awesome memories with my girls!

So… we road trip! (I did mention that I’m a teacher, right? I mean, my salary pays the bills and provides us with what we need, but it’s not like I’m raking in the dough.)

My hope in sharing our little adventures and tips is that you will find the information on my website helpful in planning a road trip for your own family! For those of you who are single, I know from my own experience that it can seem a little scary or overwhelming sometimes to be the only adult on a family trip. I hope that my experiences might make you brave! It’s all about making memories with our kiddos, right?

Good luck, and happy road tripping!
